The Internet Claps Back After Trolls Fat-Shame Lady Gaga During Halftime Show

“Don’t hide yourself in regret // Just love yourself and you’re set” — those are a few of the empowering words from Lady Gaga‘s 2011 self-acceptance anthem, “Born This Way,” and she’s held true to them. The year after the tune’s release, the now-30-year-old performer, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, posted a picture of herself, eyes closed, wearing only a bra and underwear, along with the caption, “Bulimia and anorexia since I was 15.”

These snapshots were released soon after a bunch of alleged Photoshopped photographs of the singer looking “meaty” after she “piled on the pounds” hit the Internet.

Two years later, she revealed that she recovered (or, at least, recovering). “I am better with food. I don’t have an eating disorder anymore,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “I speak up now. I realized that it’s my own fault that people take advantage. I should be around people who cherish my talents, my health, my time.”

While it’s great to see that Mother Monster set herself on the right path, there are still trolls out there who are willing to tear her down; that was evidenced by the amount of people who disgustingly fat-shamed LG during her epic Halftime Show performance at Super Bowl LI:

Well, guess what, haters — the joke’s on you. There are plenty of others who are standing by Lady Gaga’s side while you take the low road:

Keep on clapping back, y’all! ’cause, remember, everyone’s ~beautiful in their way~.
Can you believe all of these beautiful stars were told they’re too fat for fame???
