Ed Sheeran Was Just Hardcore Shaded by His Game of Thrones Co-Star
Celebrities have been making cameos on television shows and in movies since practically the dawn or time (or, well, at least the start of Hollywood). So it wasn’t too surprising when Ed Sheeran made a cameo on the hit series Game of Thrones. Many musicians and singers — from Zayn Malik to Justin Bieber to Rihanna — have been taking small steps towards acting careers and we’re glad to see Ed doing the same.
But one of his GoT co-stars was not as happy to have Ed on the show.
Kristian Nairn, who played Hodor on the series, threw some serious shade in an interview with Huffington Post. What started as explaining his distaste for cameos quickly turned into some hate for Ed!
In the interview, Kristian said, “I don’t like them. I think it’s stupid. I don’t mind going on the record on that. I just think it takes you right out of the world. Especially Ed Sheeran. I was like, ‘Why is Ed Sheeran here?’ I mean, Ed Sheeran’s great. He’s a great guy, great musician, but why is he in Game of Thrones?”
He then tried to back up and clarify himself, saying, “I’m not saying I’m not a fan of Ed Sheeran. I’m being tactful here, but just not a fan of the cameo. I think most people would agree with me there. It was a big snap to reality.”
Okay, we can kind of see where Kristian’s coming from, but still! Why drag Ed into this when other celebs have made cameos on the show before that you could shade as well?
