Kim Kardashian Slammed for Wearing Cornrows to MTV Movie & TV Awards

By  |

It was less than five months ago that Kim Kardashian was criticized for putting her then-blonde hair in cornrows and crediting Bo Derek, a white actress who wore the same style in the 1979 movie 10, for being her inspiration. But it’s clear that the 37-year-old doesn’t seem too concerned about cultural appropriation, ’cause she wore her hair the same offensive way at the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards.

The award show airs on MTV tonight, but it was pre-filmed on Saturday. That being said, we already saw all off our favorite celebrities arriving on the red carpet, and while many of them looked absolutely stunning, Kim K’s ensemble was overshadowed by her hairstyle.

Cornrows are a “traditional African style of hair grooming” that people of color have been oppressed for wearing for decades. Fans took to social media to express their disgust that the reality television star didn’t learn her lesson the first time.

Will the KarJenners ever learn!?
