Kim Kardashian Wants You to Know She Did NOT Copy Another Fragrance
As you probably already know, just five days ago Kim Kardashian announced that she’ll be launching her newest fragrance, KKW Body, on April 30th. Of course, Kim’s fans can’t wait to get their hands on a bottle of their own, but now, allegations have surfaced that Kim’s new fragrance bottle completely ripped off of another fragrance, and NGL, we can totally see why it seems that way.
In case you haven’t seen the bottle for KKW body yet, it’s shaped like, well, Kim’s naked body, and literally no one’s surprised. See?
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time a fragrance brand used a bottle that replicates a woman’s body to hold it’s products. In 1993, John Paul Gaultier‘s Classique perfume came out, and it’s a pink bottle shaped like a woman’s body wearing lingerie. Pretty similar, if you ask us!
While we totally understand why people would think Kim totally ripped off the Jean Paul Gaultier bottle, she recently spoke to Cosmo to debunk those rumors. She said, “Sculptures were my inspiration, but I love that bottle. It’s iconic and celebrates the woman’s body, but my inspiration was a statue. I wanted [mine] to be really personal with my exact mold, but I’ve always loved the Gaultier bottles.” Well, there ya have it, folks!
Considering the fact that Kim post selfies on Instagram all the time and even has a selfie book of her own, we can’t say it’s shocking that Kim wanted to make her perfume bottle an exact replica of her own body. But, if that alone isn’t extra enough for you, Kim also recently revealed on her Instagram story that the bottle will come in a box that, when untied, all four walls come down, showcasing it on a pedestal. Like we said… EXTRA, but still, we’re curious to know what it smells like. Guess we’re just gonna have to wait for April 30th to find out!
