Shawn! Camila! Plus More Stars Who Win Big at Kids’ Choice Awards 2018
The kids’ voices were heard loud and proud at this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards, and if you missed out on it, we’ve got a rundown of the night’s biggest winners. That’s right, in a tradition almost as old as time itself, everyone’s favorite singers, actors, TV shows, and movies were honored at the 31st Annual Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards.
Millie Bobby Brown kicked off the night by winning the first award of the evening for Favorite TV Actress for her role on Stranger Things. The actress even got political with her acceptance speech when she dedicated the award for the victims of the tragic Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in February.
As for Favorite Breakout Artist, that award went to Miss Camila Cabello, further proving that her solo career is taking off like crazy. She even beat out Cardi B and we all know how great of a year the rapper has been having!
And of course, a big congrats to our girl, Liza Koshy, because she nabbed the trophy for Favorite Funny YouTube Creator. She gave an LOL-worthy (natch) — and inspirational — acceptance speech. Right before getting slimed, that is.
If you’re wondering which show won the award for Favorite TV Show, well, wonder no more. The honor went to Netflix’s mega hit show, Stranger Things, with Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink and MBB on hand to accept the famous orange blimp.
The award for Favorite Musical YouTube Creator went to JoJo Siwa, who — not only accepted her award on stage — also put on a show for the audience. The 14-year-old performed her songs, “Kid in a Candy Store” and “Boomerang,” since, you know, she was already on stage. Might as well give the kids what they want!
Zendaya was up against some stiff competition in the Favorite Movie Actress category, but she ended up taking home the award. The actress beat out the likes of Anna Kendrick, Daisy Ridley, Emma Watson, Gal Gadot, and Zoe Saldana. Yeah, we weren’t exaggerating when we said she was up against some pretty big names.
Even though Shawn Mendes wasn’t in attendance, he still managed to take home the award for Favorite Male Artist. What’s even better is that he didn’t even need to be there to accept it because the nice people at Nickelodeon (and Jace Norman) delivered it straight to the singer’s trailer!
And speaking of Jace, he won the award for Favorite TV Actor for his role on Henry Danger, while Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson won for Favorite Movie Actor, and much like Shawn, he wasn’t at the ceremony and still received his award in person.
And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for: the night’s biggest award — Favorite Movie — went to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle!
