Fans Think Glee‘s Kevin McHale Subtly Came Out on Instagram

Today is the day for LGBTQ+ visibility, it seems! In addition to Harry Styles penning a song that fans are now calling a bisexual anthem, Glee alum Kevin McHale posted a mysterious picture on Instagram that people think might’ve been his way to come out as queer.

The 29-year-old actor played a LGBTQ+ activist on When We Rise last year, but has never specifically defined his own sexuality. A few days ago, however, he uploaded a photo of what looks to be him holding another man’s hand and captioned it with the American Sign Language (ASL) symbol for ‘I love you.’

He didn’t offer up any more details, tag the mystery person, or give any explanation for the shot. Some people think the hand belongs to When We Rise co-star Austin McKenzie, an actor who performed in the Deaf West Theatre’s production of Spring Awakening and has a degree in ASL.

Kevin also allegedly liked a fan’s tweet that said he’s “the only gay we stan now,” which she took as his way of coming out.

Kev was previously linked to Glee co-stars Jenna Ushkowitz and Amber Riley.
