Woman Who Held Up Kardashian Store Employee at Gunpoint was Arrested
The world is a crazy place, people. On the afternoon of Thursday, September 21, a woman walked into West Hollywood’s DASH store, a boutique clothing and accessory chain owned by Kim, Kourtney & Khloe Kardashian, and pointed a gun at the cashier.
The then-unidentified female showed up around 11:30a, and pointed a revolver at an employee. TMZ reported that the perpetrator “started ranting about Cuba, using phrases like ‘Free Cuba’ and ‘Stay away from Cuba.'”
She then proceeded to knock stuff off the counter, pointed the weapon at the cashier again, then left the store.
…but it didn’t stop there.
The criminal returned to the scene of the crime that very day — except, this time, it was with a machete. She reportedly shouted violent threats about killing the Keeping Up with the Kardashians clan. “The Kardashians will be executed if they step on Communist territory!” she exclaimed while wielding the knife in a video. “They’ll be f*cking killed! Don’t mess with the Castro family.”
In the same footage, she can also be seen and heard threatening to stab a person who tells her to shut up. The machete was left in the doors of the establishment after her rant.
Thankfully, the woman, identified as Maria Medrano, was eventually apprehended and arrested. According to TMZ, the cops were able to use surveillance footage to track her down. “Cops went to her home Thursday night, executed a search warrant and found two airsoft guns,” the site reports, “similar to the one used by the perp in the first assault.”
The 35-year-old woman was booked for assault & criminal threats, and is being held on $50,000 bail.
Kim, who was held up at gunpoint herself nearly a year ago during a robbery at her Paris hotel room, reportedly spoke out about the incident, saying that, although no one was injured, everyone was “really scared” — and we don’t blame them!
