Justin Bieber Finally Explains Why He Canceled Purpose World Tour
Justin Bieber offered an explanation for the sudden cancellation of his Purpose World Tour in a raw and emotional Instagram post. He talked about his mistakes, insecurities and the sustainability of his career.
Last month, the 23-year-old pop star canceled the last 12 shows of his tour, leaving many of his adoring fans wondering what lead him to this decision.
The cancellation was met with plenty of criticism, support and speculation (ex: Bieber canceling his tour to start his own church), but, until now, we had not received an explanation from Bieber himself.
In the post, he said he let broken relationships control his decisions and how he treated others, but he acknowledged his mistakes.
“I am very blessed to have people in the past few years help me build my character back up reminding me of who I am and who I want to be!!!” he said. “Reminding me my past decisions and past relationships don’t dictate me future decisions and future relationships.”
He expressed gratitude for his tour and his platform, and went on to say he wants to build a sustainable career.
“Me taking this time right now is me saying I want to be SUSTAINABLE,” he said. “I want my career to be sustainable, but I also want my mind heart and soul to be sustainable.”
He ends the post by saying he’s working to become “the man I want to be, the husband I eventually was to be and the father I want to be.”
There you have it. Justin is taking time to take care of himself, and grow as a person, so he can have a long career. And thank goodness, because I think we all deserve more Bieber ~bangerz~ in the future.
In other Bieber news, he will not be charged for hitting a paparazzo with his car. The police told TMZ they do not believe he had intent to hit the photographer, and the photographer was wrong for standing in the middle of the street. The flashes of the cameras could have also made it difficult for Bieber to see. Makes sense.
