As the days since the Paris attacks continue, our hearts break more and more. Yesterday, we learned The Vamps lost two members of their team in the horrific and senseless terrorist acts, and today we found out that another celebrity was personally affected by the murders — Justin Bieber

The 21-year-old singer announced via Twitter that he, too, knew Thomas Ayad, an employee of Universal Music Group France who was murdered while at the Eagles of Death Metal at the Bataclan concert hall. He wrote:

“Still thinking about Paris and my friend Thomas that we lost in the tragedy. He was a part of the team for years and I wish I would’ve had more time to thank him. Make sure to appreciate people while you have them. Thanks Thomas for everything you did for me. You are appreciated and missed. Thoughts and prayers are with your family & friends #PrayForParis.”

Although JB is currently on a whirlwind promotion tour for his just-release album, Purpose, he has been adamant in reflecting on the tragedies happening all over the world. While being honored at the Nickelodeon HALO Awards over the weekend, the “Sorry” crooner asked everyone for a moment of silence to remember the victims of the attacks.

“There’s been some sad things happening in the world right now, and I think we should all honor that and take one moment of silence for that, if you guys could,” he said. “So yeah, if we could just take a moment…”

Such a horrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the victims and their friends and families.
