Josh Hutcherson In Talks to Join New Movie ‘Paradise Lost’: Report
It looks like Josh Hutcherson has lined up his first post-Catching Fire project! According to Deadline, the 20-year-old actor is in negotiations to star alongside Benicio Del Toro in the fact-based drama Paradise Lost. Josh would play a young Irish surfer named Nick who travels to Colombia to visit his brother, and while visiting, ends up meets the love of his life.
However, there’s just one catch: the girl he falls for is the niece of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, who will be played by the Oscar winning Benicio. The film was written (and will be directed) by Andrea di Stefano, who also wrote Life of Pi, which was released last month. Filming on the project is set to begin in March, would give Josh a nice little break since Catching Fire wraps production in a matter of days. The Hunger Games’ sequel began shooting in Atlanta in September and moved to Hawaii in late November.
This isn’t the only project Josh has in the works, although the other film he has coming out is a little more family friendly than Paradise Lost. The Hunger Games star recently lent his voice to the animated feature, Epic, which also features the voices of Beyonce, Amanda Seyfried and Parks and Rec star Aziz Ansari. Epic is centered on a teenager (voiced by Amanda) who finds herself transported to a deep forest setting where a battle between the forces of good and the forces of evil is taking place, and hits theaters on May 24, 2013.
