18 Perfect John Green Tattoos Only True Fans Will Love
When it comes to YA authors, there might not be one who is quite so quotable as John Green. From The Fault in Our Stars ( “I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once”) to Paper Towns (“The town was paper, but the memories were not”) to Looking for Alaska (“The only way out of the labyrinth of suffering is to forgive”), it seems like every single one of his books are packed full with one-liners and passages that are perfect for a text post on Tumblr, caption for your next Instagram pic or, you know, just repeating to yourself over and over as you cry yourself to sleep at night (one doesn’t just “get over” The Fault in Our Stars, after all). You know what else John Green quotes are perfect for? Tattoos.
Seriously, tattoos can be intimidating, but somehow they seem less intimidating and more approachable when they have a John Green-type focus, whether it’s a line from the book or drawing inspired by its cover art. In fact, when I was looking for book-inspired tattoos about a month ago, it seemed as though the majority of the ones I found had some sort of John Green focus (rivaled only by Harry Potter, probably). There are so many of them, actually, that one could very well write an entire blog post about John Green-inspired tattoos. Which, incidentally, I did. Check ’em out here. Okay? Okay.
