Jesse McCartney Releasing New Album “In Technicolor” This July
It’s official — Jesse McCartney is back and better than ever! Our early 2000s fangirl is dying right now. SQUEE! After releasing his comeback EP in December, the 27-year-old singer is continuing to pump out the new tunes with his first full-length album in over three years. “In Technicolor” will hit stores on July 22 and we literally could not be more excited!
Jesse says the upcoming CD had many different influences and therefore will have a diverse sound.
“The music was influenced quite a bit by Michael [Jackson], Prince, and a lot of different dance music from the 70s & 80s, plus a little R&B and pop – that’s what I have always gravitated towards,” he said.
He also revealed that it was during his time writing with another successful musical group that he really figured out what he wanted the album to sound like.
“I had a pivotal moment when I was writing with Hot Chelle Rae for their album. We wrote a song that, somewhat accidentally, nailed a sound I was searching for, for myself. It was retro; it was contemporary. I envisioned real horns, real instruments.”
If the rest of the album features songs similar to his single “Superbad,” which we’re already loving, it’s safe to say it’s going to be on repeat allllll summer long!
If you can’t wait until July 22, you can pre-order “In Technicolor” here now!
