Jennifer Lawrence Slams Harvey Weinstein & Calls Him a “Predator”
Accused sexual assaulter and rapist Harvey Weinstein is trying to use Jennifer Lawrence‘s words as a way to get himself out of being sued. Yep, you read the right.
Six actresses who were allegedly victimized by the movie producer filed a class action lawsuit against him and he responded by filing his own docs attempting to dismiss their claims by saying actors such as J.Law, Meryl Streep and Gwyneth Paltrow have spoken “glowingly” about him in the past.
“Such women would include, presumably, Jennifer Lawrence, who told Oprah Winfrey she had known Weinstein since she was 20 years old and said ‘he had only ever been nice to me,'” the 65-year-old’s lawyer said, according to The Blast.
The 27-year-old refuses to let this disgusting man twist her words in his own benefit and says he’s simply doing “what predators do.”
“Harvey Weinstein and his company are continuing to do what they have always done which is to take things out of context and use them for their own benefit,” the Red Sparrow actress fired back. “This is what predators do, and it must stop.”
She continued, “For the record, while I was not victimized personally by Harvey Weinstein, I stand behind the women who have survived his terrible abuse and I applaud them in using all means necessary to bring him to justice whether through criminal or civil actions. Time’s up.”
Meryl also made a statement, calling Harvey’s countersuit “pathetic and exploitive.”
“The criminal actions he is accused of conducting on the bodies of these women are his responsibility, and if there is any justice left in the system he will pay for them — regardless of how many good movies, made by many good people, Harvey was lucky enough to have acquired or financed,” The Academy Award-winning actress said.
Just because women like Jennifer and Meryl said they were not personally victimized by Mr. Weinstein in the past does NOT mean their words should be used as a way for him to avoid the legal ramifications he deserves.
