Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘The Devil You Know’ Film Set for Release After 7 Years

Since the release of The Hunger Games (and maybe even a little bit before), Jennifer Lawrence has become a household name. But prior to 2012, she was relatively unknown. Sure, she got an Oscar nod for her role in the 2010 film Winter’s Bone, but did you really know know her? Eh. Which is probably why the flick The Devil You Know has remained buried… until now.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the film, which was shot back in 2007 starring the now 23-year-old actress, has found a distributor thanks to Jennifer’s triumphant rise to stardom (plus that Academy Award win for Silver Linings Playbook didn’t hurt either). Here’s the synopsis: “Kathryn Vale (Lena Olin) is a reclusive ex-movie star with a dark secret and a daughter hoping to follow in her mother’s movie-star footsteps. When Kathryn attempts to make a career comeback, she is threatened by an anonymous blackmailer. The resulting events force Kathryn to confront the truth about herself and those around her.” Jenn plays the younger version of one of the film’s key players, played by Rosamund Pike.

Currently, Jennifer’s in the process of filming the sequel to X-Men: First Class, Days of Future Past, alongside ex-boyfriend Nicholas Hoult. (See the first-look photo here.) But you can catch her in The Devil You Know come July 9, Serena on September 27, and in Catching Fire on November 22.
