James Franco Was Considered For the Role of Aaron Samuels In Mean Girls

As the Mean Girls 10 year anniversary approaches on April 30 (a Wednesday, no less!), it seems as more and more people have been talking about Tina Fey's iconic 2004 flick. In fact, Daniel Franzese — who played Damian — sat down with Cosmopolitan for a Q&A and he revealed some very juicy details but one of which that really caught out attention? James Franco was considered for the role of Aaron Samuels!

Yes, you might have heard of other casting switch-a-roos for the movie (Lindsay Lohan was supposed to play Regina, Amanda Seyfriend was supposed to play Cady, etc) but we had no idea about this little trivia fact. During the interview, Damian, er we mean Daniel, revealed that an actor had been cast as Aaron, but was fired after the table read on the first day.  And though he wouldn't say who it was, he said that is is someone people would know. However that actor's loss was Jonathan Bennett's gain.

Anyways, Daniel went on to reveal: "Also, Lindsay recently told me that, even before [the actor who got fired], James Franco was considered for the role of Aaron Samuels. I thought that was so cool — Bennett was great but that would have been cool."

Could you even imagine if James Franco had been part of Mean Girls? Pretty crazy, right?

What do you think of this big reveal? Do you want to know who the fired Aaron Samuels was as much as we do? Sound off in the comments section!
