YouTube Beauty Guru Exposed for Lying About the Thing That Made Him Famous

By  |

Our minds are BLOWN right now. Before James Charles was known for making a dumb AF comment about Ebola in Africa, he was a 17-year-old boy who got famous for bringing his own ring light to his senior-pictures photoshoot in order to make his highlight pop.

From there, the teen appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, was noticed by Zendaya and became CoverGirl’s first male spokesperson. Basically, the decision to take his yearbook pics with some good lighting changed his life COMPLETELY. Turns out, the whole thing was a lie.

Fellow beauty guru Thomas Halbert (A.K.A. ThomasBeautyy) had a falling out with his ex-BFF and decided enough was enough — it was time to tell the world the truth. The 19-year-old then revealed (with receipts, of course!!!!) that JC did NOT, in fact, bring a ring light to the photo session, but instead Photoshopped the pics to make it look like he had amazing makeup.

TH also provided screenshots of text messages between himself and James, which show that the latter admitted to lying.

The CoverBoy has yet to speak out about being ~exposed~, but it seems that Thomas had a slight change of heart and apologized for starting drama on social media when he was “drunk AF.”

In the wise words of Hannah Montana, “everybody makes mistakes.”
