Sooo, the Teen Choice Awards Replaced Miley Cyrus… with Jake Paul
We were SO excited to see our girl Miley Cyrus at this years’ Teen Choice Awards. She has been promoting her new music a ton and we were hoping that we would get some info on her new album, but she unfortunately couldn’t make it to the awards show. While fans could totally understand her absence, they couldn’t get over who her replacement was.
Problematic YouTuber Jake Paul was Miley’s replacement and while he is super popular with nine million subscribers, people were less than thrilled to see him instead of Miley. After it was announced that he would be taking over Miley’s duties, Twitter was quickly filled with people venting their frustrations.

Fans were quick to point out the timely similarities between the two. Just last month Jake exited from his Disney show, Bizaardvark, after his neighbors blasted him over his actions. In response to the leave, Jake released a rap music video “YouTube Stars Diss Track”. We think he was trying to make an apology, but he mostly compared himself to Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus. Jake basically said that when Sel Go and Miley left Disney they didn’t get as much hate as he did, as if they were the same situation.
Jake did go on to have a successful night where he won a Teen Choice Award for Choice YouTuber and Choice Music Web Star. We’re sure he vlogged the whole night and we’ll have a new video to watch this week.
