Jake Paul Admits He Actually WAS Fired from His Disney Channel Show
When Jake Paul announced that he was leaving Disney Channel‘s Bizaardvark, he was clear that it was a mutual decision. The network even released a statement that said, “We’ve mutually agreed that Jake Paul will leave his role on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark.”
Many people saw through the announcement because the 20-year-old was being threatened with a lawsuit from his neighbors at the time, and turns out they were right! The YouTube star recently chatted with The Hollywood Reporter about what actually happened, and it seems like his OG story was total BS.
The blonde explained that network executives saw the KTLA newscast, which aired shortly after neighbors’ complaints started, and they were NOT happy.
“They basically called me and were like, ‘Yo, what’s going on, what’s going on?'” he said. “And I just explained the situation, and they were like, ‘Okay. We want to expedite this process of weaning you off the show.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s fine. But it’s going to look like you guys fired me.’ And they were like, ‘We can say that we mutually parted ways and blah, blah, blah.’ And that’s the reality of the story.”
Disney Channel hadn’t be happy with Jake for a while, because he “was becoming edgier with [his] content,” and the potential lawsuit was simply the final straw.
One time, he “put a middle finger up in a video for literally half a second” and got angry emails in response.
“I don’t know if they were having someone scan my videos full-time, but I’m guessing they were. There kept on being moments like that every few weeks.”
Seeing as Jake has done stunts like lighting things on fire, which, at times, have actually caused harmed to those around him, we don’t think it’s too crazy that Disney was monitoring his every move and decided to ask him to GTFO.
