Little Mix Girl Hospitalized for Life-Threatening Eating Disorder
Little Mix‘s Our World book is shaping up to be one of the most eye-opening novels of recent time. In addition to Perrie Edwards spilling ALLLLLL the tea about her breakup with Zayn Malik, Jade Thirlwall also used the pages to open up about her own personal struggles.
The 23-year-old has always been candid about being severely bullied throughout her teens, but for the first time ever she explained that the constant torture from her peers led to difficult battle with anorexia, which ultimately left her hospitalized.
“My periods stopped and things were getting out of control, but I don’t think I really cared about what was happening to me,” she said. “I felt so depressed at the time that I just wanted to waste away and disappear.”
While Jade knew that her health was in jeopardy, she couldn’t bring herself to get help.
“Anorexia is a self-destructive thing and you become stubborn, so when people are trying to tell you something you get it into your head that they’re against you and you’re not going to listen.”
Eventually, the British beauty wound up in the hospital where they told her that the eating disorder “was something really serious” and she needed to get help or she would die.
“They sat me down in the clinic and were quite tough at first, spelling it out, ‘You’re destroying your body and if you keep doing this you will die,'” she continued.
It was then that Jade started therapy and made weekly hospital visits until she slowly became healthy again.
