Apparently, Ian Somerhalder & Nina Dobrev Aren’t as Friendly as She Claimed
When Ian Somerhalder first started dating ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev‘s pal Nikki Reed, many suspected an eventual rift between the Vampire Diaries co-stars, which would’ve been understandable considering they used to be in a 3-year relationship. Then, earlier this year, Somereed got engaged mere days after Nikki’s divorce from Paul McDonald was finalized, Nina announced her departure from TVD in April and Ian tied the knot a couple weeks later. Nevertheless, the former couple maintained that there was no bad blood between them. However, Ian’s latest move may prove otherwise.
Within the same week rumors spread that Nina is dating Whiplash star Austin Stowell, Ian reportedly pulled the ultimate shady move: he unfollowed his ex on Twitter.
This shouldn’t be taken lightly. After all, when Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus‘ friendship was over, they unfollowed each other. And when Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez went through all of their drama, they unfollowed each other on various forms of social media, too.
Last month, before her exit from their hit CW show, Nina claimed that she was still friendly with Ian, “We didn’t break up because anything bad happened or because there wasn’t love or friendship. I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he’s great and I care about him. And that didn’t change. Yes, we’re professional and that’s fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now.” If that’s the case, then why the change on Ian’s part? Could it have been an accident? A hack? He still follows her mom (for now), so the possibility is there. Unfortunately, fans are not supportive of the bold move, no matter what the case may be, as they began trending #UnfollowMeSomerhalder around the world.
