Our Hunger Games Beauty Faves

By  |

It’s def not a stretch to say that our fave new series is The Hunger Games And let’s just say that all of the promotions, mall tours and red carpet events are giving us some mayje beauty inspiration that will last until the next movie’s release. Or, ya know, at least until we have to buy some more THG nail polish. So let’s steal these gorg looks, shall we?!

First off, we are in love with Jennifer Lawrence’s glam new dirty blond locks. Sure, it’s a departure from brunette Katniss, but don’t worry. She looks so fab that we found it in our hearts to forgive her.

Katniss-level Fierce
What do you wear with a gold dress that looks like it belongs in a museum? Lots of smoky eyeliner, of course! Her L.A. premiere eye makeup look not only showed off how awesome her dress was, but it was also seriously gorg. Period.

Give it a try:
1. Lightly dust on a bronze eye shadow on eyelids, blending up into your eye crease.
2. Use a black pencil eye liner to trace the entire outer rim of the eye and blend messily.
3. Add some light pink blush and lip gloss to balance out the bold eye.

You Glow, Girl!
Jennifer was glowing with pride at the film’s London premiere with what looked like some serious shimmer. This is perf for an effortless center-of-attention moment.

Give it a try:
1. Dust on shimmer powder, (we love Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Brick in Rose Gold), with a brush across the forehead, in a stripe down the front of the nose and just above the cheekbones.
2. Even out any too-shimmery spots with some translucent powder.

The Perf Loose Braid
What a way to look all calm and cool when facing thousands of eager THG fans during a mall tour! This loose braid is just messy enough without looking like Jennifer came straight from a red-eye flight.

Just Jared

Give it a try:
1. Straighten your hair and blow it out for volume
2. Loosely gather hair to one shoulder and loosely braid.
3. Secure with a hair elastic and finish with flexible-hold hairspray.

And now for some non-Jennifer Lawrence looks…

Matchy Neon Blush and Lipstick
Trying to match your blush and lipstick can get super sticky. But Isabelle Fuhrman (or her makeup artist) found the perfect combo with a just-enough-to-notice lighter cheek color for the L.A. premiere.

Give it a try:
1. Pick out a matching neon pink blush and non-matte lipstick.
2. Lightly dust the blush on the apples and then back along the cheekbones.
3. Swipe on the lipstick and stash it in a purse for touch-ups later.

Short Ombre Hair
We already decided that Miley Cyrus‘ L.A. premiere ensemb looked like it was missing a layer or two and landed her on our worst dressed list. Sorry. But that hair is amaze! Here’s at least one celeb that proves ombre hair can and does work on shorter ‘dos.

Give it a try:
1. Start with dirty hair.
2. Use a curling iron to curl waves away from the face.
3. Spritz on some hair texturizing spray (especially for straight hair) and finish with some hairspray.

What do you think of these beauty looks? Do they compare to Capitol beauty? Which makeup look are you thinking of trying out for prom? Comments time!
