Harry Styles’ Dad Exposes a Secret That His Son Clearly Wasn’t Ready to Reveal
Even before One Direction went on hiatus, there were always rumors about Harry Styles wanting to leave music for the acting world. But while the 22 year old always denied those stories, big-shot director Harvey Weinstein revealed that Haz actually had been approached about being in films, but rejected the offers. “I offered Harry a role in Tulip Fever but he was touring so he had to turn it down,” Harvey said in 2014. A few months later, the director continued, “There’s no question he will enter the movie business. I get from him that he wants to. I’ve met him two or three times and he was very interested and charming. I think the guy is a movie star.” Well, Harvey was clearly onto something, because the British cutie has finally joined a movie cast… at least according to his father.
Des Styles hadn’t tweeted anything since early February, so when he suddenly came back and posted a VERY interesting message, fans were blown away. He wrote:
“United in final, H has great movie role so I’m back! Had nothing to say after 1D took a break, back now. What are you saying about Dunkirk? X”
As most Directioners already know, Dunkirk is the World War II film directed by Christopher Nolan that Hazza has been rumored to be a part of for quite some time. But even though many were convinced for quite some time that the 1D guy will be making his big-screen debut in the movie, Des’ tweet was the first thing to actually confirm the not-so tightly kept secret. Shortly after the message was posted, however, Harry’s father deleted it in hopes to reverse the damage of the accident reveal. But alas — screenshots are a thing, Des. We know what’s up…
Throughout the course of his career, Harry has been rumored to play a TON of roles! Here are some of them:
Mattheus, Tulip Fever
Harvey Weinstein is one of the film industry's biggest executives, so when he offers you a movie role, you do not say no. Except for when you're Harry Styles.
The producer and studio owner told MailOnline, "I offered Harry a role in Tulip Fever but he was touring so he had to turn it down. The part ended up going to Matthew Morrison and let me tell you this, the very first scene he shot was one of him kissing Cara Delevingne."
Well, that would've been awk! Maybe touring responsibilities wasn't the only reason why Harry passed on the offer...
