Final ‘Harry Potter’ Anniversary Cover Revealed on J.K. Rowling’s Birthday
It’s a year to remember as our beloved Harry Potter turns 15. In celebration of the monumental anniversary, Scholastic’s been pumping out new covers for each of the seven books, and today marks the final reveal with the latest edition of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Courtesy of graphic novel author and illustrator Kazu Kibuishi, we can re-imagine the scene where Harry, Ron and Hermione escape from Gringotts while riding on the back of a dragon, as opposed to the original Mary GrandPre version where Harry’s in the center of the epic battle.
The unveiling of the special cover was held today at Scholastic’s headquarters in New York City — not-so-coincidentally on J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter’s birthday. (J.K. is 48; Harry would be 33, ya know, if he was real.) All seven books will be available for purchase on August 27, 2013. What do you think of the fresh looks, Potterheads? Go ahead and spill, and make sure to leave your birthday wishes in the comments!
