Halsey Explains Why She Wasn’t at the ’18 VMAs by Throwing Serious Shade
A ton of our favorite celebrities strutted their stuff at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards, but one star was noticeably missing — Halsey. A fan asked the 23-year-old musician why she didn’t attend this year’s VMAs, which is basically the hottest place to be, and her response had us holding onto our wigs for dear life.
The New Jersey native savagely explained, “Bc I directed all my own music videos this album just to have @MTV ‘#wcw’ me to death and not nominate me for anything so it didn’t feel right to go. I’m happy you guys liked the videos. That’s all that matters to me.”

SAVÁGE!!!! But do you really expect anything less from the “Bad at Love” crooner?
Halsey’s pseudo-boycott comes just about a month after Bella Thorne actually boycotted the Teen Choice Awards because she says the show “is gross.”
“The fact we are even voting against each other is …. it f*cks w kids heads like a beauty competition […] I’m #boycottingteenchoice besides it being rigged it’s just f*cked up,” she explained.
As great as awards shows are, we don’t blame celebs for choosing to not to be a part of them every now and then.
