Halsey Abruptly Cancels Concert Mid-Show Due to “Personal Emergency”
Halsey was performing a Hopeless Fountain Kingdom Tour concert in Alberta, Canada, on Tuesday night like normal, when suddenly she stopped the show mid-set and everyone had to leave the building. No one knew what was going on at the time, but Live Nation eventually released a statement that said her Edmonton show, which was set to happen the following day, would also be canceled “due to a personal emergency.” The “Now or Never” singer later gave somewhat of an explanation on her Instagram.
“I’m so sorry to the fans in Calgary and Edmonton who were effected [sic] by the cancellations,” said the letter. “There are very few things in this world that could make me stop a show, and my fans know that. This is breaking my heart but I have to take a few days to gain my composure so I can put on the best show possible in Minneapolis and finish out the tour with a bang. I’ll make it up to the fans in Canada. Thank you for understanding and respecting the privacy of me and those close to me during this time. I love you.”
Halsey confirmed in the post’s caption, however, that “the rest of tour is resuming as planned,” which will be on November 18 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
It’s obvious that something pretty bad happened if the 23-year-old not only canceled tour dates, but canceled one as it was happening. She did ask for fans to “respect the privacy of [herself] and those close to [her]” at this time, so it’s important that we try not to speculate about what’s going on, but rather just send her as many positive thoughts as possible. When (or if) Halsey wants to give us more details, she will.
