Grace VanderWaal Apologizes After She Disses Jacob Sartorius on Instagram

Musical.ly star Jacob Sartorius had a big year, but America’s Got Talent season 11 winner Grace VanderWaal doesn’t seem to agree.

The 15-year-old posted a video containing highlights from 2017 way back before Thanksgiving with the caption, “Thankful. Just a kid out here working my butt off, so glad I have you guys with me. I wouldn’t be anywhere without you guys. Here’s to 2018 being the biggest year yet!!”

We’re not sure what happened in the weeks between when the vid was posted and now, but the 13-year-old recently decided to lash out against the Muser in the comments section.

“This is all out of respect. Please let me inform you on how woman and men have worked harder than you or I could ever imagine for 3 times our years,” she wrote. “No Internet, no Spotify, no nothing that makes it so easy to gain so many fans in such little time, just dedication and pure hard work, pushing and pushing to make their dreams happen. Lip syncing on an app and manipulating young girls feelings and hearts is NOT ‘working your butt off.'”

Grace quickly changed her tune and apologized, however, when she started getting hate for her response.

She added, “Absolutely love this post by the way.. I’m so sorry I was not expecting or trying to start anything. . Just really think your [sic] talented and should stay grounded remembering and thinking about what the [word] work really means. Really amazing you’re taking time and saying thanks. All respect to you brother.”

Ummm, wut? Not sure how Grace went from dissing Jacob for “lip syncing on an app and manipulating young girls’ feelings and hearts” to saying he “really amazing,” but here we are.
