‘Glee’ Girls Lea Michele, Naya Rivera and Amber Riley Going Solo with Their Music
The cast of Glee may be all shook up now, what with only half of last season’s series regulars appearing in the premiere episode, but there’s still plenty of music to be heard from at least three of the FOX show’s stars. Minus Chris Colfer, the actors who played the biggest Season 1-3 divas, Amber Riley, Lea Michele and Naya Rivera, are all working on solo albums. As recently as late August, record producer Rodney Jerkins released the following picture of him working with Amber in the studio:
To further whet your appetite, one of her tracks, “Boy, I’m a Woman,” leaked this week. No word yet on if it’ll make it to the album, but nevertheless, here’s your first listen:
And finally, Lea Michele. In her September 2012 cover spread with Nylon, the actress says she wants to “make songs where girls can just roll down the windows of their car or dance around in their rooms in their underwear, like, ‘I hate my ex-boyfriend!’ or ‘I’m so in love!’ Because that’s what I want [to hear] — power-girl songs.” Fortunately, the time has already come for this to happen, as the news of Lea’s big break came in just last night. She tweets:
Just had a very exciting music meeting and am proud to announce that im officially on the road to making my first album! I'm so excited!
