‘Glee’ Girls Lea Michele, Naya Rivera and Amber Riley Going Solo with Their Music

The cast of Glee may be all shook up now, what with only half of last season’s series regulars appearing in the premiere episode, but there’s still plenty of music to be heard from at least three of the FOX show’s stars. Minus Chris Colfer, the actors who played the biggest Season 1-3 divas, Amber RileyLea Michele and Naya Rivera, are all working on solo albums. As recently as late August, record producer Rodney Jerkins released the following picture of him working with Amber in the studio:


To further whet your appetite, one of her tracks, “Boy, I’m a Woman,” leaked this week. No word yet on if it’ll make it to the album, but nevertheless, here’s your first listen:

As for Naya, who took home the trophies for Favorite TV Actress and Best Female Music Artist at the 2012 American Latino Media Arts Awards (ALMAs) this past weekend, she just announced that she signed on to work with Elton John’s music management company and will be releasing her single, “My Heart,” by the end of this year. Go, Santana!


And finally, Lea Michele. In her September 2012 cover spread with Nylon, the actress says she wants to “make songs where girls can just roll down the windows of their car or dance around in their rooms in their underwear, like, ‘I hate my ex-boyfriend!’ or ‘I’m so in love!’ Because that’s what I want [to hear] — power-girl songs.” Fortunately, the time has already come for this to happen, as the news of Lea’s big break came in just last night.
