Ryan Murphy Confirms That Season 6 of ‘Glee’ Will Be Its Last

By  |

FOXIt's the news we were preparing ourselves for — Glee is tapped to conclude at the end of its sixth season.

During an FX network event at Paley Center, Ryan Murphy made the not-so-startling announcement, admitting that Cory Monteith's death has forced him to alter the end of the series.

He admits (via TVLine), "The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel [Lea Michele] and Cory/Finn's story. I always knew that, I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was, he was in it. I knew what the last line was, she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we're figuring that out now."

The show creator continues, "I have a good idea. I'm going to tell the studio and the network [in a week] how, after Cory's unfortunate passing, we can end the show that I think is very satisfactory. And kind of in his honor, which I love."

If you have yet to watch "The Quarterback," which paid tribute to the life of Glee's beloved character, Finn Hudson, you can catch all the performances here. How will you #RememberingCory? Are you upset that the dramedy will be over after next season? Or was it time? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below, or on our Glee message board.
