We Asked Sabrina Carpenter What You’re DYING to Know About Girl Meets World
Most of us know Sabrina Carpenter as Maya from Girl Meets World or from the 2016 Disney Channel Original Movie Adventures in Babysitting, but when she’s not starring on the network that made other young women like Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez HUGE, she’s following in their footsteps and pursuing a music career. We recently got a chance to catch up with the very busy 17-year-old at this year’s Z100’s Jingle Ball where she gave us the scoop on her tour, the current status of Girl Meets World‘s renewal (well, kinda…) and more!
Teen.com: You’re on a headlining tour, how many cities have you been to so far?
Sabrina: “We are almost at 40 cities!”
Wow! Any favorite cities so far? Even a top three?
“As far as crowds go: Indiana, Milwaukee was awesome, and New York — and Philly, cause it’s my hometown.”
That’s awesome! Do we have any updates on Girl Meets World? Our readers are really, really into the show and constantly wondering where we are with the renewal!
“No, we do not [have an update]. We have been so lucky to work on the show for the past three years and we don’t know what’s happening yet. But we’ve got amazing new episodes that are still airing and everyone so far has liked them so we’re really lucky.”
What are your New Year’s Eve plans? Who are you going to be with and what are you going to be doing?
“Oh, I haven’t even thought about New Year’s Eve yet! I thought it was only Christmas… there’s another holiday? I don’t know. It’s too much. I don’t know yet!”
Who do you think is the best new male artist of 2016?
“Wow, new male artist? I don’t know if he’s new, but I love Shawn Mendes‘ new album. He’s super talented.”
Oh, yeah, we love him! Favorite meme of 2016?
“I like, what is it? Pepe the Frog! Peep? Pepe! I like him.”
Pepe! It’s all good. And who do you think is the biggest breakout star of 2016?
“There’s been a lot! There’s been so many incredible ones. Umm, I wouldn’t say ‘breakout,’ but I feel like she’s getting so much recognition this year — Andra Day, I love her. There’s a lot of incredible talents though.

Hopefully Girl Meets World doesn’t end up on the list of shows that were canceled far too soon:
