It’s the start of a new era — Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel will, in fact, be back again for the reboot of Boy Meets World come the 2014 television season.

Disney Channel just announced this morning that the spin-off series, titled Girl Meets World, will be a part of its upcoming lineup. The show will focus on the life of Riley Matthews (played by Rowan Blanchard), the daughter of the original’s famed couple, Cory and Topanga.

Series creator Michael Jacobs says, “I am grateful to everyone at Disney Channel for the opportunity to reach my favorite audience, which has always been kids. Girl Meets World is a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made Boy Meets World so popular.”

Newbie Sabrina Carpenter will play Riley’s “rebellious” BFF, Maya Fox, while Teo Halm is tapped to portray Cory and Topanga’s son. So far, there hasn’t been too much word on the return of BMW‘s other renowned characters like Shawn Hunter and Eric Matthews, but Rider Strong did make a few comments.

Now that it’s all confirmed, are you pumped for the reboot series? Who else would you like to see make his/her return? Sound off in the comments, Boy Meets World fans!
