Congrats Are in Order — Harry Potter Actor Engaged to Co-Star!
Wedding bells are in the air for a Harry Potter favorite — Freddie Stroma is engaged!
Word just got out that the 29-year-old actor, who brought Cormac McLaggen to life on the big screen in three HP movies (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 & Part 2), popped the question to his girlfriend, Johanna Braddy, over the weekend. His rep told People, “We can confirm that Freddie Stroma and Johanna Braddy are engaged. The proposal happened Sunday in Vancouver. They are both thrilled.”
The blond cutie, who starred opposite Lucy Hale in 2011’s A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song and Anna Kendrick in 2012’s Pitch Perfect, met his love on the set of their 2015 Lifetime faux reality series, UnREAL, and have been together ever since.
Considering his lack of luck where Hermione was concerned in the Harry Potter franchise, we’re glad to hear that he and his 28-year-old wife-to-be are happier than ever. He deserves it. Congrats, you two!
Of course, not everything to do with the Harry Potter cast is all sunshine & daisies — just look at all these scandals:
The hero of the eight-movie franchise has opened up quite a bit about his "very addictive personality," saying that he would show up to work on the films inebriated after a night out. "I can honestly say I never drank at work on Harry Potter. I went into work still drunk, but I never drank at work. I can point to many scenes where I'm just gone. Dead behind the eyes," he told Heat magazine.
Then, of course, there were those photos of what looked like DanRad smoking weed that circulated in 2009, with publications blazing Harry Pothead across its headlines. The actor's spokesperson denied the claims, saying, "Daniel does smoke the occasional roll-up cigarette, but he was not doing anything more than this," but the drawn-on mustache left many to still believe that he was high.
