Finn Wolfhard Has a Perfectly Legit Reason Why He Missed the SAG Awards

In case you were wondering why the heck Finn Wolfhard wasn’t at the 24th Annual SAG Awards, don’t worry — he’s fine and has a solid excuse. (And, no, it has nothing to do with him finding out that Millie Bobby Brown is dating Jacob Sartorius.)

Let us stay out of teens’ love lives for a hot sec and tell you the real reason why Finn was M.I.A. from the 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards, shall we? The young cast of Stranger Things — including Millie, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery AND Dacre Montgomery — was in attendance, looking adorable per usual. But, noticeably, a key member of the squad was missing in action: Finn Wolfhard!

TBH, he’s as busy as a 15-year-old boy could be; he was recently cast in the upcoming book-turned-movie The Goldfinch, opposite Ansel Elgort, plus he’s been performing in a band named Calpurnia… He can’t show up at everything, you know? However, his excuse had nothing to do with work. He tweeted before the show to let his fans know that he would not be in attendance because he has the flu. Oh no! He wrote, “I had flu and I couldn’t get to the sags on time! Hope everyone has a wonderful time! Root for us!”

Stranger Things was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series, but lost out to Game of Thrones and This is Us, respectively. Finn’s co-stars, MBB and David Harbour, were also up for individual awards for their work on the Netflix program, but lost out to Claire Foy (The Crown) and Sterling K. Brown (This is Us). Maybe next year, guys!

Now if only we can find out what happened to Charlie Heaton… Maybe he’s still in hot water over that alleged drug bust at LAX last year?
