7 Artists Who Competed on The Voice When They Were Already ~Famous~
The Voice has been around for six years already, and its thirteenth (WTF?!) season premieres next week on the 25th! We honestly can’t believe that we have been watching Adam Levine and Blake Shelton fight over who’s better for this long and how many incredible singers we have seen become stars.
Looking back at the past 12 seasons, there are some moments that immediately come to mind. Who could forget when Justin Bieber (in his prime) performed “Boyfriend” or when Adam and then-judge Christina Aguilera released their collab song, “Moves Like Jagger,” huh? There have been seriously jaw-dropping moments that we didn’t even expect from live TV.
Although those moments were amazing, one of the biggest moments in The Voice history is also the most heart-breaking. It’s been a little over a year since YouTuber-turned-mainstream star Christina Grimmie was shot and killed right after her performance in Orlando, FL. Christina was a fan-favorite on the sixth season of The Voice and her death had a deep impact on everyone, especially her coach, Adam.
Before auditioning for The Voice in 2014, Christina already had a huge fan following. She was consistently making content on YouTube, was a part of DigiTour and toured with her friend. Perhaps you’ve heard of her? Her name is Selena Gomez!!! Yes, Xtina was making a name for herself and her incredible run on The Voice sealed the deal.
Christina may be one of the most well-known already ~famous~ singers who stole the stage on The Voice, but there were tons of people who already had a significant resume who tried their best to get the judges to turn their chair around. From singers who made their debut on the Disney Channel to actual boy band members, you won’t believe who took their shot on The Voice!
As much as it hurts to write about Christina, we must keep her memory and legacy alive.
Before auditioning for Season 6 of The Voice, Christina was busy making a name for herself. She had a popular YouTube channel, which Selena's mother discovered. Soon after, CG went on tour with SG as her opening act and started to gain her own fan base. As a result, Christina had multiple live performances and red carpet moments that propelled her into the spotlight.
In 2014, she auditioned for The Voice, with her rendition of "Wrecking Ball" that made all four judges turn around. She joined Team Adam and came in third place.
