Lily Collins Cozies Up to Kristen Stewart’s Ex in ‘The English Teacher’

Lily Collins is picking up some steam, starring in three movies set to debut in 2013 (so far): The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones with on- and off-screen love Jamie Campbell Bower, Stuck in Love alongside Logan Lerman, and The English Teacher, which we’re here to talk about today.

In the comedic drama, Lily plays a popular girl who comes into conflict with Linda Sinclair (played by Julianne Moore), her high school English teacher. However, as you’ll see in the still, Lily’s character takes kindly to the kid portrayed by Kristen Stewart‘s ex-boyfriend, Michael Angarano, who’s also Ms. Sinclair’s former star pupil. According to Collider, Michael’s character “returns to their small town after failing as a playwright in New York, [and Ms. Sinclair] convinces him to mount his un-produced play at the school, which creates more drama than she’s ever known.” Greg Kinnear also plays a part in the film, which is interesting considering that both he portrays Lily’s father in Stuck in Love, due out in August 2013.

This isn’t the only time Lily’s worked with someone close to Kristen. Back in 2011, she played love interest to Taylor Lautner (both on- and off-screen) in Abduction.

The English Teacher hits theaters on May 17, 2013. Will you cheer on Lily? Or will you wait ’til it comes out on DVD? Tell us in the comments!
