After the Longest Break Ever, This Boy Band Actually Dropped New Music!

By  |

Rise! When Drew Chadwick left Emblem3 in June 2014, it smelled like the beginning of the end for the X Factor alums. Like Justin Timberlake, Nick Jonas and Zayn Malik, he wished to separate from his boy band (or whatever you want to call a group of guys who release music) roots and pursue a solo career. Nearly one year to the day later, and E3 announced another shakeup: Keaton and Wesley Stromberg would be taking a break from the group duo, as well.

They wrote, “Emblem3 will always be a HUGE part of our life and we can’t thank you all enough for the love and support you’ve given us since the beginning. We learned so much, and as the years have passed we’ve realized that we both have so many creative ambitions. So, a new chapter is beginning…”

Then, separately, they each made their own announcements, with Wes saying he’s “been pouring my heart and soul into writing and creating a new sound! I’ll be starting several new projects! Creation is LIMITLESS!”

Keaton chimed in with his own proclamation of fresh sounds, too, saying he’s “been working on a new band project as well!”

While they took the time to add that they’re “continuing to write and produce together” and that “Emblem3 is NOT over. We are, after all, Forever Together,” did anyone really expect them to return? We’ve heard that song and dance before — just look at all the bands that went on hiatus & never returned! But that’s ancient history now ’cause E3 is not only back, but the trio already has a new single!

That’s right, Emblem3 just dropped its first bout of fresh beats in years, and we cannot stop listening to it. The tune is called “Now,” and it explains why the group almost called it quits for good. Catch the lyrics below, followed by the audio, then tell us your thoughts in the comments!

Make way for the kings
When E3 steps back in the scene
Just a couple bros, a guitar & a dream
Everything we need to achieve anything
‘Cause we got lil’ Keats on the Mac making beats
Got Wesley on the mic, he can sing
Me on the side, been banging these strings
Pretty much the same kids since sixteen
But NOW we’re back making waves like a typhoon
Couple kids and a million dollar tycoon
Climbing up the Billboard
Climbing up the iTunes
Screaming baby, baby

Baby, we’re back,
Did you miss me? Miss me?
Here on this track
Are you listening, listening?
I’m in the stars, yeah
And I’m never coming down
Oh ooh
No one can stop us now!
Ooh ooh ooh

You see, certain people tried to brand us
Without taking the time to understand us
I get the fact there’s a business plan but
That sh** damn near broke the band up
And this might seem random
But I got to give a shout out to the fandom (I love you!)
Been a couple years and you all stuck around and
It means more than you’ll ever understand
‘Cause we do it for the buzz when we get up on the stage
High like a drug straight shot to the veins
We don’t do it for the money, we don’t do it for the fame
We do it for the love and it’s never gonna change!

Baby we’re back,
Did you miss me? Miss me?
Here on this track
Are you listening, listening?
I’m in the stars, yeah
And I’m never coming down
Oh ooh
No one can stop us now!
Ooh ooh ooh
No one can stop us now!
Ye-yeah,
And I’m never coming down,
No one can stop us now!
