YouTube Star Elle Mills Comes Out as Bisexual in Emotional Video
If you’re a fan of YouTube star Elle Mills (ElleoftheMills), you know she gets one question over and over again — “are you gay?” Up until now, the 19-year-old has never discussed her sexuality online, but finally decided to making a coming-out video explaining that she is bisexual.
“Throughout my life, I’ve always found boys cute…but deep down I knew I had other attractions, as well,” she explained at the start of her short-film feeling YT vid.
By the end, she came right out (no pun intended) and said it — “Hi, I’m Elle Mills and I’m bisexual.”
The Canadian creator explained that she has repressed her feelings about women for most of her life, but then met a girl who ultimately made her tired of hiding because “sometimes feelings are so strong they cannot be repressed.”
Instead of coming out to her closest friends with a simple talk, Elle decided to play a little game with them. She described her crush to the group and told them to draw who they thought she was talking about. They all came up with various depictions of men, but then were shocked when the YouTuber showed them a picture of who she was actually crushing on — a girl.
Everyone was super supportive, but that still didn’t stop the fears she had before coming out to her family several days later. Elle recorded herself sobbing as she explained that she was worried her relationships with the people she loves most would change after she came out. With the help of her friends, she was able to decorate her house with the rainbow LGBTQ+ flag and reveal her sexuality to her mom and brother, who both took the news incredibly well.
