Egg Face Masks are Here and We’re Equal Parts Intrigued and Grossed Out
We’re gonna shoot it to you straight… if you’re not onboard with the face mask trend, what in the world are you doing?! Now more than ever before, beauty brands offer some of the coolest face masks we’ve ever seen. Some of them are fruity, some of them are brightly colored, and some of them are even made with — wait for it — eggs!
Yes, you heard that correctly, ladies and gents! Thanks to K-beauty brand Skinfood, you can now purchase a face mask made with “albumen,” which is more commonly known as egg whites. Uh… ew?
While we’re having a hard time seeing ourselves using a mask made mostly out of eggs, this product actually does have some great benefits on the skin. Egg whites are a great source of protein, and they also contain vitamins B3 and B12, as well as many other beneficial minerals. According to the product’s description, this particular mask will work to reduce sebum output, deep-clean your pores, tighten your skin, and get rid of bacteria. Hmm… it’s starting to sound pretty good, isn’t it?
The more we look into it, the more we’re intrigued by Skinfood’s products. The K-beauty brand is known for incorporating ingredients you’d find in your kitchen, which is actually really cool! And, when it comes to face masks, eggs definitely aren’t the first ingredient they experimented with. Check out this rice mask:
