The Second Man to Commit Sex Crime Against J.Law is Barely Getting Punished

We cannot even deal right now. The second hacker in the infamous #Celebgate of 2014 — in which private, explicit snapshots of Jennifer Lawrence, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice, Kate Upton, Becca Tobin and more leaked onto the Internet — received his sentence for the crime today and *surprise, surprise* he’s barely getting punished.

According to reports, Edward Majerczyk took a plea deal, and was sentenced to nine months in prison for hacking the accounts of ~30 celebrities and stealing their personal information, including naked photographs and videos. The 29-year-old criminal was also ordered to pay $5,700 restitution for counseling services for one of his famous victims.

Back in May 2016, a man named Ryan Collins confessed to one count in the big case. The man pleaded guilty to hacking at least 50 iCloud accounts and 72 Gmail accounts, most of which belonged to female celebrities. (As it turns out, there were more than 600(!) victims.) BUT, he did NOT plead guilty to the actual leak itself, which is the absolute worst part of what Jennifer Lawrence called “a flagrant violation of privacy” and “a sex crime.” He received an 18-month prison sentence.
