Ed Westwick is Facing Two Possible Sexual Assault Charges After Allegations

By  |

The Harvey Weinstein scandal inspired numerous woman to come forward and say #MeToo, including four brave ladies who spoke out about actor Ed Westwick‘s alleged sexual misconduct against them. Actress Kristina Cohen was the first person to come forward, followed by Aurélie Wynn, Rachel Eck and Haley Camille Freedman.

The Los Angeles Police Department launched an investigation shortly after the first rape allegation came out and recent reports say that the 30-year-old is now facing two possible sexual assault charges due to his actions.

A source in the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office tells the Daily News that one case was handed over by the LAPD earlier this month and a second “was turned over for review last month.”

Ed responded after the first two women’s claims, denying everything.

At first he said about Kristina, “I do not know this woman. I have never forced myself in any manner, on any woman. I certainly have never committed rape.”

After Aurélie came forward he added, “It’s disheartening and sad to me that as a result of two unverified and provably untrue social media claims, there are some in this environment who could ever conclude I have had anything to do with such vile and horrific conduct. I have absolutely not, and I am cooperating with the authorities so that they can clear my name as soon as possible.”

The British star’s girlfriend, model Jessica Serfaty, backed up her boyfriend’s innocence by saying she “know[s] the truth.”

We are unsure if Ed will actually be charged with sexual assault, but we will keep you posted as more information becomes available.
