Ed Sheeran Denies Justin Bieber Duet; Says They Wouldn’t “Click”

For those who were hoping to hear Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber make sweet, sweet music together, you can forget about it. It’s not going to happen. Before Justin wrapped up his BELIEVE Acoustic album, a series of tweets from Justin, Ed and Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun led the public to believe that a duet between the singers was a possibility. But Ed’s dispelling those rumors, here and now.

He says, “I don’t think a collaboration would work with Justin. I think collaborations should be done with people that can actually click. Two male singers makes it very difficult for it to work.”

As for those tweets, Ed actually was working with one of Scooter Braun’s clients: Tori Kelly, who was crowned the winner of America’s Most Talented Kids in 2004 over Hunter Hayes. Ed says, “I met Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, in New York and he said he’s got this artist I want you to write with… Next time I was in LA, I was doing Jimmy Kimmel and he brought this girl to Kimmel and I met her straight afterwards. I then went to the studio and did a song.” Now that he mentions it, that does make sense considering Scooter’s comment:

But Ed’s worked with male singers before, like the One Direction guys on multiple occasions (i.e. “Moments” and “Little Things”), so hmm… On a brighter note, there is a Sheeran collaboration we can look forward to as Ed’s heading out on the Red tour with “Everything Has Changed” partner Taylor Swift in 45+ cities beginning next month.
