Ed Sheeran Still Has a Ring on THAT Finger, But He & Cherry Aren’t Married

By  |

Ed Sheeran stirred the gossip pot yesterday when he was spotted wearing a silver ring on THAT finger, which made people think he and fiancée Cherry Seaborn secretly got married. So, when the 26-year-old showed up to the 2018 BRIT Awards still rocking the piece of jewelry, you can imagine what people were thinking.

But, as it turns out, the “Perfect” crooner is NOT a husband…yet.

Ed chatted with Sky News on the BRITs red carpet and spoke out about the potential nuptials.

He explains, “It’s an engagement ring, ’cause I feel like — I dunno. I feel like it’s good to both do things.”

A source close to the redhead reiterates his statement and says that he’s actually getting a kick out of all the speculation.

“He’s amused by the fuss it’s caused however has no intentions of taking it off, so it’ll be on his hand during his BRITs performance,” the source tells The Sun.

Ed also admits that he doesn’t know when the wedding will be happening, but when it does it’ll be “a situation like this where no one knows.” UGH, THE SUSPENSE!!

ES and CS got engaged just before we rang in 2018, but he didn’t announce the news until the end of January.

“Got myself a fiancé just before new year,” he captioned the picture on Instagram. “We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx”

Ed and Cherry first met at school when they were 11, but reconnected in 2015 with a little help from BFF Taylor Swift.

He told People magazine last March, “I’ve known Cherry since I was 11. She worked on Wall Street in New York, and I had like six shows. It was around then, and we reconnected. I went on tour again, and then I went to Taylor’s 4th of July party. I was texting [Cherry], and she was like, ‘I’m in Rhode Island at a 4th of July party,’ and I was like, ‘So am I.’ I kinda said to Taylor, ‘Can I invite one of my old schoolmates?’ The rest is history.”
