Ed Sheeran is Reportedly Building Own Chapel for Cherry Seaborn Wedding
Everyone knows Ed Sheeran is a romantic guy — like, have you HEARD “Thinking Out Loud” and “Perfect”?!?! — but he’s reportedly taking it to a whole new level. According to the Belfast Telegraph, the 27-year-old singer is planning to build a chapel on his property in The U.K. for his wedding to longtime girlfriend Cherry Seaborn.
The news outlet reports that the British singer submitted an application to the Suffolk Coastal District Council back in January to make a Saxon-style chapel made of flint with a round tower.
The application reportedly states that Ed needs the chapel because “it is every person’s right to be able to have a place of retreat for contemplation and prayer, for religious observance, celebration of key life and family milestones, marriages, christenings and so forth.”
A decision on if the redhead can build the structure, which would hold 24 people, on his Suffolk, England, estate is set to be made in April.
Ed announced his engagement to Cherry just over a month ago, but confused the heck out of fans after he was seen wearing what looked to be a wedding ring just a few weeks later.
ES showed up to the 2018 BRIT Awards still rockin’ the piece of jewelry, but confirmed that he and the 25-year-old didn’t secretly get married.
He told Sky News, “It’s an engagement ring, ’cause I feel like — I dunno. I feel like it’s good to both do things.”
Ed later revealed to The Sun‘s Dan Wootton that his fiancée actually made the ring specifically for him to wear.
“I never saw why men didn’t wear engagement rings,” he said. “It’s the same commitment either way. Cherry made it for me herself out of silver clay. I really like it.”
