By  |

Death is always difficult to grasp, but when a young person dies it’s even more tough to understand. Dylan Rieder, a professional model and skateboarder, passed away yesterday at the age of 28 after courageously battling Leukemia since January 2015.

“[On] October 12th, 2016, surrounded by family and friends, Dylan Joseph Rieder passed away due to complications with Leukemia,” his manager said in a statement. “His passion for life, art, music, fashion and skateboarding has always been contagious. Dylan will be remembered by all as a loving son, brother and friend.”

The young star was friends with countless people in both the modeling and skateboarding community, one being supermodel Cara Delevingne, who is currently mourning the loss of her good pal.

“One of the kindest, most down to down, incredible human beings I have ever encountered,” she captioned the above photo. “You will be so missed by so many people. Ride and Rest In Peace Dylan Rieder.”

Dylan and the 24-year-old first worked together on a DKNY campaign in spring 2014.

As we mentioned before, the 28-year-old was extremely loved by many people, including other celebrities like Maggie Lindemann, Tony Hawk, Ozzy Osbourne and Ryan Sheckler.

Thank you for making skateboarding so much better while you were here, Dylan.
