The Dylan O’Brien Death Cure Accident Update You Didn’t Realize You Needed
For weeks, fans of Dylan O’Brien have been waiting with bated breath on the details of his recovery. After all, he was allegedly run over by a car on the set of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure (though, reports suggest that he fell to the ground when the motorcycle he was driving went into a slide after completing a stunt… which isn’t that much better) — there was plenty of reason to panic. Thankfully, one of the 24-year-old actor’s co-stars provided a much-needed update on Dyl’s condition, as well as when production will start back up.
At the premiere of The Jungle Book, Giancarlo Esposito (Jorge in The Maze Runner) revealed, “He’s healing very well. He got put together a couple of weeks ago… He’s one tough cookie,” echoing director Wes Ball‘s sentiments.
“He got his bell rung,” Giancarlo added. “I would imagine many who witnessed thought that was it…[But] he’s a survivor. The one good thing about Dylan that I think is going to help him get back on schedule with us very soon is he has a great attitude.”
The Teen Wolf star is said to have suffered a “concussion, facial fracture and lacerations,” but Wes said that “after a few weeks of rest and recovery, he will be back up and running to finish our adventure together.” And, according to Giancarlo, the adventure is tapped to begin shooting once again on May 15.

Fan totally freaked out (and rightfully so) when news broke that leading man Dylan O'Brien got run over by a car while filming a scene. As a result, Dylan had to undergo surgery for his broken bones, and production for the flick had to be shut down. According to director Wes Ball and author James Dashner, Dylan is going to be alright and filming will resume once he's fully recovered.
