Dylan O’Brien Cast in Another New Movie, The Education of Fredrick Fitzell
Dylan O’Brien is going to be one busy man this summer. The 26-year-old actor is (mostly likely) playing Ceto in the upcoming crime drama The Bayou, and Deadline reports that he was also cast in a thriller called The Education of Fredrick Fitzell.
Dyl will star alongside Independence Day: Resurgence‘s Maika Monroe and play Fred, “a man who begins to unravel a long hidden mystery about a missing girl, a drug called Mercury, and a terrifying creature that has followed him into adulthood.”
The Teen Wolf alum’s character is, according to a statement, “not a detective, a secret agent or a philosopher; he’s a normal guy approaching 30 and going through an existential crisis as he finds himself on the precipice of full-blown adulthood.”
The flick is being written and directed by Christopher MacBride and produced by Lee Kim
“The script is unlike anything I’ve read,” the producer says. “Chris has crafted a unique, brilliant story — one that transcends genre and provides a surreal snapshot of a man on the brink of collapse. It’s a testament to his writing, vision and characters that we have such an amazing cast lined up. I’m excited to help bring this to life.”
