7 Disney Princesses You Didn’t Realize You Needed
Disney is finally expanding its horizons a little and bringing us its first Hispanic Princess on a new series for Disney Junior. Elena of Avalor will focus on Princess Elena and will showcase Hispanic and Latino cultures. This is such a great step for Disney, and I’m really excited about it. However, I don’t want Disney to think a small TV series is enough when it comes to diversifying the Princesses.
There are so many cultures and types of people out there. Whether you want to believe it or not, Disney Princesses are hugely influential. When I was a kid, I thought the Princesses were everything! Growing up, I realized how amazing it would have been to see a Princess who was more like me instead of this perfect, unattainable being with great hair. It would be great if Disney could open up and give us some Princesses that represented real girls:
