What to Expect from the Final ‘Divergent’ Novel, ‘Allegiant’
All the reveals at the Divergent Comic-Con panel gave us all sorts of feels for the movie. But that doesn't mean we've forgotten the book series it came from. And, fortunately, there's new buzz on that front: the final book synopsis!
The last novel in the trilogy (excluding the four short stories told from Four's point of view), Allegiant, which we already know will be in both Tris and Four's voices, has an official outline! It reads as follows:
"The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered — fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she's known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.
But Tris' new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature — and of herself — while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love."
Allegiant will be released on October 22, 2013, but you can look forward to new Divergent tales from author Veronica Roth starting September 24 with The Transfer. What do you think of the synopsis? Are you planning on getting the four Four short stories? Tell us in the comments below, or on our Divergent message board!
Psst, we caught up with Divergent's Shailene Woodley & Miles Teller!
