The Divergent gang’s all here — Beatrice “Tris” Prior (Shailene Woodley) and Caleb (Ansel Elgort) with their beloved parents Andrew (Tony Goldwyn) and Natalie (Ashley Judd). Such a happy-looking family… for now, anyway.

In the book-to-movie adaptation of Veronica Roth‘s novel, which is currently slated for a film sequel by the way, Tris leaves her parents behind in her born-into faction, Abnegation, while Caleb sets off for Erudite. (Learn more about the factions here.) So you can only imagine what happens to the family dynamic: chaos.

But the on-screen familial turmoil isn’t the only controversy Ansel has to account for. As you may or may not have heard, the actor was recently cast in The Fault in Our Stars as Augustus Waters opposite his Divergent sister, Shailene. Except in this flick, they’ll be playing lovers instead. Shai’s already given her opinion on the topic, now it’s Ansel’s turn. He says of the fake incest, “I think that’s the magic of being an actor. You can do that and it’s not weird — people play different roles all the time, you know?… ‪I feel like Shailene is the best actress I’ve ever met, who was good enough to read with, and I feel like I’m a pretty good actor, too, so I think it’s going to be no problem for us. It’ll be great.‬.. “Acting is acting. We have chemistry as brother and sister, but we’re both good enough to have chemistry as lovers as well.‬”

Are you on board with Shailene and Ansel’s siblings-turned-couple situation yet? What do you think of the first family photo? Tell us in the comments below, or on our Divergent message board!
