While buzz about the Divergent film starring Shailene Woodley is slowly being released, news on the third book in the trilogy has remained at a standstill for some time while author Veronica Roth was penning and editing the YA novel. That is, until this week…

Veronica Roth writes on her blog, “For awhile there it was way too early to reveal anything about book 3, sometimes because certain bits of information weren’t even decided yet. But now it’s getting to be that time when information about book 3 starts trickling out, piece by piece. […] I want you guys to know ALL THE THINGS. For now, though, just ONE OF THE THINGS…”

After, the writer proceeded to link to the Divergent Facebook page where it was announced that the third and final installment to the series would be released on October 22, 2013; nearly five months to the date before the Divergent movie premiere on March 21, 2014.

Besides Shailene, talents such as Romeo Miller and The Hunger GamesAlexander Ludwig have openly expressed their interest in participating in the book-to-movie franchise. Romeo even said of his audition, “[O]ut of everything I’ve accomplished, that this day — TODAY — I am the most excited. Always dream big and be FEARLESS! #dauntless” Besides the young actors, Academy Award-winner Kate Winslet‘s also tapped for the film, though her role is unknown as of press time.

Who do you want to see star in the movie? What do you think the next book will be called? (Convergent? Emergent?) To join in on the action, join us in the comments or on our Divergent message board!
