Today, We Mourn the Sudden & Tragic Death of an Old-School Disney Star
Sad news to share today. According to TMZ, former Disney Channel star Michael Galeota has passed away. The actor was just 31 years old at the time of his death, and was best known for playing Nick Lighter on DC’s The Jersey from 1999 to 2004.
While we’re not completely clear on the details surrounding Michael’s death due to “natural causes,” he apparently went to the hospital the week before he passed away “complaining of abdominal pains,” but checked himself out against doctors’ advice. When he hadn’t been heard from for a few days, one of his friends went to his California home to check on him and found him dead in the living room.
His GoFundMe page remembers him as a kind, compassionate man who always put others first.
He was a precious gift — loving, giving, compassionate, joyful and intelligent. A great inspiration for anyone that heard his genuine, humble, witty and joyful voice, or experienced his smile, laughter and love for just a moment. To know him was to love him. His humble nature hid a great compassionate and loving human being, with a huge heart. He cared profoundly for his family and friends. Mike was a great giver, always ready and able to care for others. Although his life was short, we are grateful and appreciate the experience of having been loved, and loved him in return, and for being in our lives. In our hearts and souls, he will always be with us.
In addition to his family and hundreds of fans that are mourning his sudden and tragic passing, one of Michael’s former Disney stars sent her love after hearing the news.
